Common Questions
How do I reach the glamping sites from Kota Kinabalu?
All experiences include transport from Kota Kinabalu. For the single-night experience, a 4WD vehicle takes you to the forest clearing (approximately 90 minutes). Multi-night programs involve a combination of road travel and occasional river transfers, all coordinated by our team. You don't need to arrange anything separately.
What should I bring with me?
Comfortable walking shoes with ankle support, lightweight long sleeves and pants for forest walks, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, and a small daypack. Bedding, towels, and toiletries are provided. We'll send a detailed packing list after booking. The climate is warm and humid year-round.
Is this suitable for families with children?
The single-night and three-night experiences work well for children aged 8 and above who are comfortable with outdoor settings and moderate walking. The seven-night circuit involves longer treks and early starts, which may be more appropriate for teenagers and adults. Please contact us to discuss your family's specific needs.
What wildlife might we encounter?
Borneo's rainforests are home to orangutans, proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants, hornbills, and countless bird species. Sightings vary by location and season, and we never make guarantees about wildlife encounters. The forest itself, with its ancient trees and layered ecosystems, is the primary experience. Our naturalists help you notice what might otherwise go unseen.
When is the best time to visit?
Sabah's rainforests can be visited throughout the year. The drier months (March to October) offer more predictable weather for trekking, while the wetter months (November to February) bring lush greenery and dramatic afternoon thunderstorms. Each season has its own character. We operate year-round and can advise based on your preferences.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 4 to 6 weeks ahead, particularly during the drier season when demand is higher. The seven-night circuit requires coordination across multiple camps, so earlier booking is helpful. If you have specific dates in mind, reach out and we'll let you know what's available.
